My name is Jeremiah Lake and I was originally born in San Diego, California, but moved to Ennis, Montana at the age of 12 and began working right away in a small downtown restaurant, where I enjoyed the work and atmosphere. Soon after, I began working at a new Bistro, and by the end of the first summer I was working the main dinner line with the head chef. In 1996 I began working for local chef Jay Bentley at the Continental Divide in Ennis Montana. By this time, I knew that this is what I wanted to do for my career.

From there, my culinary experience included working under the amazing Italian chef Keith Altimus. Though we only worked together for a couple years, he had the biggest impact on my culinary career to this day. I soon became the head pastry chef and then decided I needed to experience something new and ended up in Athens Georgia working at “The Last Resort”. During weekends, we would serve up to 800 dinners a night, and as one of the lead chefs, I picked up a love for cooking southern style cuisine.

Portland was my next stop where I trained culinary students during their apprenticeships, as well as maintaining my chef’s position at the Italian inspired restaurant “Serratto.” Here, I began planning the menus around new, fresh ingredients as the growing seasons are very long and with plentiful local farms and ranches.

I eventually returned to Montana and took over food and Beverage operations at a ski, golf and real estate community called Moonlight Basin. There I managed a camping, fishing, and gourmet dining experience on the banks of the Madison River called “Moonlight on the Madison”. I ultimately left Moonlight Basin to start my own business as a personal chef and caterer in the greater Bozeman, Big Sky and Ennis area.
